Le sanglier est l'ancien symbole de la Gaule. Il s'agit donc d'un double sens : La Gaule est le berceau de la langue d'Oïl, qui fut à la base de la langue française. La Gaule est aussi associée à une image de résistance et de combativité.
La couronne de laurier et un symbole traditionnel représentant la gloire de son porteur. Elle est ici usée par le temps et les combats.

The flower is a lily, symbolically associated with the French language in Quebec.
